Marketing Your Practice in 140 Characters or Less

Having seen some of my blog posts about Twitter, the folks at Texas Lawyer approached me about writing an article explaining it from a hands-on perspective.  The result of my efforts, entitled "Marketing Your Practice in 140 Characters or Less," appears in today's issue.  I hope readers find it informative.

1/13/09 Update:  Law.com has picked up the article on its Legal Technology page and has added some helpful links.  Thanks to all who have commented to me about it, both below and elsewhere.

Todd,

That was really quite helpful! A case study beats a hypothetical any day of the week.

I have been one of the naysayers, but I have to admit have not really given Twitter a fair shake. I never got very far beyond signing up.

For the ultimate in Twitter naysaying (and a laugh), check out this post I ran across the other day while hunting for help on how to use Twitter for marketing.

Weighing that advice against yours . . . well, I'm willing to give it a shot.

Todd, Good thoughts. That might push me over the edge into Tweet-world. My sister (who doubles as my informal marketing advisor - ah, the resources of the solo practitioner) has been after me for months to subscribe to Twitter and start using it in conjunction with my blog as a marketing tool, but I have been hesitant. I guess, perhaps, it's worth a shot.

Best,
Tad
